Since 1909

More than100years of history

In 1909 the Bideau and Giraud families united two ancestral vineyards in La Haye-Fouassière. Since then the same land has passed down the generations, moving to Terra Vitis and then to organic farming. In 2023 siblings Sarah and Charly Bideau took over the family estate.

The Wines

Three rocks, read parcel by parcel

Melon de Bourgogne leads the vineyard, filled out by a few rarer grapes. From one wine to the next the soil changes: orthogneiss, amphibolite or micaschist, between the hillsides and the banks of the Sèvre. From Muscadet sur lie to the crus communaux, each cuvée keeps to its soil, and long ageing on the lees gives these wines their mineral edge.

Visit the domaine

The domaine welcomes visitors by appointment, Monday to Friday, at 11 rue du Calvaire in La Haye-Fouassière. Tastings range across the vineyard, from Muscadet sur lie to the crus communaux Grand Mortier Gobin and La Haye-Fouassière.

The Domaine

In La Haye-Fouassière, between the hillsides and the Sèvre

At 11 rue du Calvaire, the domaine welcomes visitors by appointment, between the family cellar and the 52 hectares of vines running down to the Sèvre. The same family has farmed the orthogneiss, amphibolite and micaschist of three neighbouring terroirs here since 1909.

The Terroirs

Three rocks, one river

The domaine farms fifty-two hectares around La Haye‑Fouassière. It works three rock types from the Armorican Massif — orthogneiss, amphibolite, micaschist — from the slopes above the Sèvre to the communal crus on the plateau.
